Lucknow, March 11 -- A thick layer of haze and light fog suddenly descended on several cities in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning, nearly blocking sunlight and significantly reducing visibility in many areas.
People in several districts, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Meerut, and Agra, faced the fog.
According to the Meteorological Department, visibility was extremely low in some areas due to the fog. It dropped to about 30 meters in Prayagraj, 100 meters in Meerut, and nearly 500 meters at the Varanasi airport. Weather experts say such conditions were previously seen in March in 2008.
