Aizawl, May 20 -- A majority of HIV/AIDS cases in Mizoram continue to be driven by unsafe sexual practices, with 68 percent of infections traced to unprotected sex and 30 percent linked to the sharing of contaminated syringes and needles among intravenous drug users (IDUs), according to Dr Jane R. Ralte, Project Director of the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS).
Dr Ralte shared this data during a meeting of the District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee (DAPCC) of Lunglei, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Navneet Mann on Monday.
