Bhubaneswar, July 13 -- Senior BJP leader and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram has announced his retirement from electoral politics, declaring that he will no longer contest either
Lok Sabha or Assembly elections.
Oram made this announcement during an informal interaction with journalists at Sambalpur yesterday, while attending the Rozgar Mela event.
The Union Minister clarified that although he is stepping away from contesting elections, he will continue to be actively involved in party activities and public life.
Oram revealed that even in the last Lok Sabha elections, he was reluctant to contest but agreed at the party's request.
