Hyderabad, June 28 -- Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar today paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao (PVNR) on his birth anniversary, describing him as a towering statesman and a shining symbol of Telugu intellect and simplicity.

In a statement issued in Hyderabad, Bandi Sanjay hailed PV as a humble leader who began his career as a journalist and rose to become the only Telugu person to serve as Prime Minister.

"He donated his own land to the poor, spearheaded land reforms, and laid the foundation for India's economic revival during a time of crisis," he noted.
