Chennai, Jan. 14 -- union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan celebrated Pongal, the traditional harvest festival of Tamils, at teIIT-Madras on Wednesday.
He celebrated the festival by preparing the sweet Pongal made of rice, jaggery and milk with the staff, faculty and students of IIT-Madras and also served to them.
The traditional Pongal celebration was jointly organised by the Staff Club, IIT Madras and the Muthamizh Mandram, IIT Madras, under the leadership of the Institute's administration.
The event underscored the Institute's commitment to celebrating India's rich cultural traditions alongside academic excellence.
