Dharamshala, Feb. 2 -- Rajya Sabha MP Indu Bala Goswami today welcomed the union Budget 2026-27 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, describing it as a milestone for the overall development of Himachal Pradesh.

She said the budget's proposal to develop ecologically sustainable mountain trails in Himachal would lead to the creation of world-class trekking and long-distance hiking infrastructure in hill districts such as Kangra, Chamba, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur.

This, she said, would give a major boost to tourism, develop new trekking routes, attract more domestic and foreign tourists, generate employment opportunities and usher in a new era of economic growth and prosperity in the state.
