Shimla, Feb. 1 -- Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today expressed disappointment over the union Budget 2026-27, stating that it does not adequately address the fiscal challenges faced by Himachal Pradesh, particularly as a hill and disaster-prone state.

He said the budget and the recommendations of the Sixteenth Finance Commission (2026-31) have overlooked the special circumstances and long-standing concerns of smaller states like Himachal Pradesh.
