Kyiv, Jan. 2 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed the head of the country's military intelligence to lead his presidential office, signalling a shift toward a security-centred approach as the war with Russia grinds on and political pressures mount at home.
The Ukrainian president said he had offered the post to Lt General Kyrylo Budanov, the long-serving head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the defence ministry, who accepted the role.
