Kyiv/Washington, Oct. 7 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today said that Washington had approved Kyiv's purchase of the US-made Patriot missile systems, though admitted that funding remains an issue.

"The Americans have unblocked the option of Patriot purchases - not just missiles, but also systems," Zelensky said in remarks published by Novosti.Live on Telegram.

"The only problem is funding. That is why I count on immobilised (Russian) assets," he added, referring to Ukraine's calls to use frozen Russian funds in Western banks to finance its defence needs, reports TASS.
