Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 13 -- The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) emerged as the leading alliance in the Kerala local body elections, securing control of the highest number of local self-government institutions across the State, as per the final figures released on Saturday.

Results were declared for a total of 1,200 local bodies, comprising 941 Grama Panchayats, 152 Block Panchayats, 14 District Panchayats, 87 Municipalities and 6 Corporations, reflecting the complete picture of grassroots governance in Kerala.
