Abu Dhabi/Tehran, March 9 -- The UAE has reportedly struck an Iranian desalination facility, marking a significant escalation of hostilities between the Emirate and the Islamic Republic, since the start of the ongoing US-Israel war on Iran.
If confirmed, the strike would mark not only yet another Persian Gulf state entering into direct military combat with Iran, but would also mark Abu Dhabi's first retaliatory attack against Iranian drone and missile fire.
As per Iranian officials and its state-owned media, a desalination facility on Qeshm Island had been allegedly hit overnight, disrupting water supplies in roughly 30 surrounding villages.
