Abu Dhabi/Jerusalem, Sept. 27 -- UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed met with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, and stressed on the need for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza and firmly rejected Jerusalem's potential annexation of Palestinian territories.
According to statements by the UAE Foreign Ministry, the top Emirati official also warned that the UAE's normalisation agreement with Israel could be harmed, if Tel Aviv moved ahead with the initiative, as per Times of Israel.
According to the UAE Foreign Ministry, the meeting, also attended by Ambassador to Israel Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Khaja and special envoy Lana Nusseibeh, focused heavily on the humanitarian toll of the conflict.
