Dubai, May 21 -- UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Israel Foreign Minister Gideon Saar have agreed in a phone call to restart urgent humanitarian aid deliveries from the United Arab Emirates to the Gaza Strip, the UAE Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

"The aid will address the food needs of approximately 15,000 civilians in the Gaza Strip in the initial phase," the ministry said in a statement following the phone call between ministers.

UAE humanitarian aid will include essential supplies to keep bakeries running and essential items for infant care. The two sides discussed regional and international efforts to revive the humanitarian truce, secure a ceasefire and the release of hostages, the ministry said.
