Dehradun, Jan. 3 -- The Uttarakhand government has strong view of irregularities emerging in the state's Family Registers leading to fear of demographic changes in rural areas.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has asked district magistrates to investigate addition of non-qualified new names based on fake documents in Family Registers.
In a high-level meeting of senior officials Dhami on Saturday ordered them for a statewide investigation of family registrar considered as a major document for domicile certification of the state's natives.
Dhami said addition of names of non natives and those coming from outside areas must not be entertained by the elected representatives or officials concerned.
