Ghazipur, April 9 -- A tragic road accident occurred on Thursday on the Varanasi-Gorakhpur four-lane highway near Naisare village in the Nandganj police station area of Ghazipur district, leaving two women dead and around 35 passengers seriously injured.

According to police officials, the accident happened when a tourist bus lost control after hitting a divider and overturned on the highway. The driver reportedly tried to avoid a Bolero vehicle, which led to the loss of control.

The deceased have been identified as Annapurna Devi (50), a resident of Pune, and Saraswati Devi (70), from Buldhana district in Maharashtra.
