Agartala, May 9 -- Two individuals, suspected to be Bangladeshi nationals, were shot and killed last night by BSF gunfire in the Kamalasagar area along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura's Sepahijala district.
According to police, the deceased were involved in cross-border smuggling and attacked the BSF personnel when confronted. The BSF troops were compelled to fire in self-defence, leading to the fatalities of two persons at the fencing area, while others managed to flee into the darkness.
The unidentified middle-aged victims were transported to Bishalgarh hospital, where one was pronounced dead upon arrival, and the other was referred to Agartala Government Medical College hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries en rou...
