Srinagar, Feb. 4 -- In a major boost to public education in Jammu and Kashmir, two government schools from the Kashmir Valley have won the prestigious Wipro Earthian Award 2025, placing the region among the national leaders in sustainability and environmental education.
Officials said the awards were conferred on Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Nishat, Srinagar, and Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), B.K. Pora, Budgam, during the 15th annual Wipro Earthian Awards Ceremony held at Azim Premji University (APU), Bengaluru, last week. The event honoured outstanding student teams from across the country for their research-driven projects under the Wipro Earthian Sustainability Education Programme.
