Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 17 -- Two members of a family died and several others were hospitalised after falling ill following a meal at a restaurant in Vizhinjam, Kerala, in a suspected case of food poisoning. Health authorities and police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George stated that she has asked for a comprehensive report from the Food Safety Commissioner regarding the deaths and the circumstances surrounding the incident. The deceased, identified as Shaji (48) and Rashida Beevi (58) from Nilamel in Kollam district, reportedly fell sick after consuming seafood at the restaurant on Monday evening.
