Meerut, March 4 -- Panic gripped local residents after two bodies were recovered from the Ganganahar canal in the Sardhana area of Meerut on Wednesday.
Villagers spotted the bodies floating in the canal and immediately informed the police.
Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot and, with the help of locals, retrieved the bodies and sent them for postmortem.
According to the police, one of the deceased has been identified as Azeem Ansari, who had jumped into the canal four days ago and had been missing since then.
