Washington, April 23 -- US President Donald Trump alleging that strong internal divisions have beset Iran's leadership, claimed that Iranians have essentially becoming leaderless, as they no longer know who is leading them, preventing the country from submitting a response to the latest proposal for a permanent ceasefire agreement between the two countries.

"Iran is having a very hard time figuring out who their leader is! They just don't know!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

While Mojtaba Khamenei is the Islamic Republic's new Supreme Leader in official capacity, he has not been seen publicly since he took charge following his father Ali Khamenei's death on February 28.
