Agartala, Feb. 4 -- Tripura's Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee sought the Centre's intervention to ensure quality control for the ongoing construction work on National Highways in the state, while flagging the poor condition of multiple national highways due to a quality compromise.

Raising the issue in the Parliament, Bhattacharjee highlighted the growing inconvenience faced by the public due to the damaged road infrastructure.

He emphasised that despite substantial progress in the construction and upgradation of six out of eight national highways in Tripura, several crucial stretches continue to be severely deteriorated within a year of its construction, significantly impacting the mobility.
