Agartala, Jan. 10 -- A contentious dispute has ignited unrest among advocates at Sabroom in Tripura following accusations of misconduct and threatening behaviour by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Abhijit Singh Yadav towards a practicing lawyer.
The Sabroom Bar Association declared on Saturday a boycott of all case hearings and documentation at the SDM court starting January 12, unless the government takes exemplary steps against the accused officer.
However, Yadav refuted the allegations, instead accusing the lawyer of inappropriate conduct. He stated that during a hearing on January 7, he merely requested the advocate to refrain from crowding the temporary courtroom and to sit in the designated area when his case was called.
