Agartala, Jan. 5 -- In response to ongoing public requests and demands, Tripura government has declared a short five-day winter break for all educational institutions from Tuesday (tomorrow).

The vacation will apply to all government-run, private and government-aided schools throughout the state, order read. The decision comes in light of the severe cold wave that has affected the region for over a week.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, who previously indicated he would consider the winter vacation and make an appropriate decision, utilized his verified social media account to announce this long-anticipated decision by his administration.
