Agartala, Feb. 26 -- Tripura's renewable energy sector has reached a notable achievement with the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, allowing the state to exceed 8 megawatts in solar power generation, which is targeted to reach 50 MW by 2027.

As traditional power plants encounter difficulties due to natural gas shortages, rooftop solar installations are becoming a dependable alternative. Throughout Tripura, households are increasingly evolving into micro power generators, supplying sustainable energy directly to the grid, said Tripura power minister Ratan Lal Nath.
