Agartala, May 4 -- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha hailed the BJP's victory in Assam and West Bengal as a step toward a new dawn of development in India's east under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The electoral success in Assam was certain well before the election because of the people-oriented projects and pro-people activities of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in the past five years, but in the case of West Bengal, the people's mandate was securely pressed in the EVM after 15 years of misrule of Trinamool Congress-led by Mamata Banerjee, he said.
