Chandigarh, Sept. 23 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Monday inaugurated its 25th National Congress at Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh, with party leaders, delegates, and representatives of fraternal organisations in attendance.
The opening ceremony began with the unfurling of the national flag by Dr. Jagmohan Singh, nephew of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, and the CPI flag by veteran communist leader Bhupinder Sambhar.
Floral tributes were paid at the Martyrs' Column, followed by revolutionary songs and salutes by Red Volunteers.
In his welcome address, Dr. Swarajbir, Chairman of the Reception Committee, recalled Punjab's legacy of freedom struggles, the Ghadar Party, agrarian movements, and the sacrifices of martyrs, including Shaheed Bhagat S...
