Ch. Sambhajinagar, March 27 -- In a significant ruling, the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has directed payment of compensation amounting to Rs. 27,00,560 to the parents of a junior college girl student Akefa Meherin, who died in a road accident in 2019.

The order passed recently comes after intervention by the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court, which had taken serious note of the matter, following which a chargesheet was filed against Police Sub-Inspector Santosh Ramdas Pote, holding him responsible for the incident.
