Bhubaneswar, Feb. 5 -- Train operations have been fully restored on the Khurda Road division of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) following the derailment of the Chennai-New Jalpaiguri Express near Jakhapura Yard on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at 08:51 hrs when one AC two-tier coach and two general coaches of the 22611 Chennai-New Jalpaiguri (MAS-NJP) Express derailed while moving at a very slow speed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all passengers were safely accommodated.
The derailed coaches were detached for restoration work, with the Accident Relief Train (ART) from Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road, along with Accident Relief Medical Equipment (ARME), deployed under the supervision of senior railway officials.
