Bhubaneswar, Jan. 6 -- In a tragic incident on Tuesday, a woman journalist of an Odia TV channel and another woman lost their lives in a road accident at Jamalpur locality near Mangalpur on the Bhubaneswar-Puri National Highway-316.
The deceased journalist has been identified as Sheela Pattanayak, who was traveling with another woman on a scooty from Bhubaneswar to Puri when the mishap occurred.
According to sources, the two-wheeler she was riding skidded on sand lying on the road, and a speeding private bus hit it from behind. While Sheela Pattanayak died on the spot, the other woman succumbed to her injuries later in the hospital.
Both bodies were sent to Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for post-mortem examination.
