Buldhana, Feb. 26 -- In a tragic incident reported from Harankhed village in Malkapur taluka of Maharashtra's Buldhana district, a seven-year-old boy died after sustaining severe burn injuries in a field fire, while his mother succumbed to shock upon learning of his death, police said on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Om Sandeep Hole (7) and his mother, Vanita Sandeep Hole (32), residents of Harankhed.
According to local sources, the incident occurred on Wednesday when stacks of tur hay had been loaded onto a bullock cart as part of preparations for the upcoming agricultural season.
Om was reportedly sitting atop the hay bundles at the time. In nearby fields, agricultural waste was being burned.
