Kendrapada, Dec. 27 -- A 46-year-old vegetable trader was charred to death inside his shop in Kalabuda Bareni market under Kudanagari police station late last night.
While police suspect that the trader Subash Mallick (46), of Gobindapur village, might have died in a fire triggered by a short circuit, the family members and the locals alleged that some miscreants might have torched the shop after locking the door from outside.
Sources said Subash, after attending a party at Kalabuda, returned at midnight last night in an inebriated condition and slept in his shop.
A local temple priest saw the shop burning at around 3.45 AM and informed the family members of the deceased. The family members and locals later unlocked the door from outside...
