Kolkata, Sept. 16 -- Heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours has caused rivers to swell across North Bengal and Sikkim, leading to widespread flooding, road blockages, and landslides.
The Teesta River overflowed near Rabijhora today, inundating low-lying areas and forcing the suspension of traffic on State Highway 12 towards Darjeeling at Teesta Bazar.
While National Highway 10 through the Teesta area remains open, debris and heavy congestion have been reported.
Authorities have urged motorists to drive with extreme caution and allow additional travel time.
