Lucknow, Feb. 3 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday said that it would be premature to assess whether the United States' decision to impose an 18 per cent tariff following a mutual agreement with India is in the national and public interest.
In a post on X, Mayawati stated that in the absence of adequate information, any immediate evaluation would be hasty, as the real impact of the decision would become clear only after its implementation on the ground. She emphasised that it remains to be seen how the move would affect the country, particularly the Bahujans, the poor, labourers, farmers, and women.
