Chennai, Oct. 14 -- The Tamil Nadu Pollution ontrol Board (TNPCB) today called forcelebrating a noiseless, some pollution free Diwali and allowed bursting of crackers fortwo hours -- one hour each in the morning and in the evening.
An official release here said people of Tamil Nadu were allowed to burst crackers between6.00 am and 7.00 am and 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
Stating that "We Deepavali is one of the important festivals celebrated by people of thecountry, it said during the festival along with wearing of new clothes and distribution ofsweets, bursting of crackers and colourful lights have become customary for manygenerations to show the happiness.
