Chennai, Feb. 28 -- After a prolonged delay that caused some irritants in the ties on issues over power sharing and number ofseats, the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu formally held the first round of seat sharing talks with its key ally, Congress, on Saturday, aheadof the ensuing Assembly elections.

The five-member seat sharing panel formed by the AICC to hold parleys with the alliance partners and headed by Party Tamil Nadu elections in-charge Girish Chodankar met the DMK's committee at its headquarters "Anna Arivalayam".

The DMK committee was headed by Lok Sabha MP and Party Treasurer T R Baalu.
