Chennai, Jan. 23 -- The Tamil Nadu Assembly on Friday adopted a resolution against renaming the Mahatma Gandhi NationalRural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) and restructing it by imposing 40 per cent financial burden on states and urgedthe union Government to ensure that the scheme continue to be named after the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi in remembrance of the principles laid down and the path he had shown for the nation."The resolution was moved by Chief Minister and DMKPresident M K Stalin and after floor leaders/representatives of various parties spoke on it, the resolution was adopted unanimously by voice vote.
