Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), March 22 -- A round-the-clock armed police protection was given to the family of a retired sub inspector of police (SI), S.Zakhir Hussain Bijili, who was murdered by a gang over a land dispute, police said on Saturday.
The slain ex-police official's son Izur Rahman Bijili in a video alleged that there is a threat to his family and he might be the next target as an unidentified man is watching his house. Tirunelveli City Commissioner of Police (CoP) Santosh Hadimani today ordered to provide armed police protection to his family, residing at Thottipalam in the city.
