Kolkata, May 14 -- In a bid to counter the BJP's 'Tiranga Yatra' - a nationwide campaign launched by the saffron party to celebrate the Indian Army's successes in the recent 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan - the Trinamool Congress has announced plans to hold nationalist rallies across West Bengal on May 17 and 18, between 3 PM and 5 PM.

While party sources describe the initiative as a tribute to martyred soldiers and their families, political observers see it as a calculated move by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, timed just a day after the BJP's May 16 'Tiranga Yatra', to counter the saffron party's attempt to gain political mileage from its campaign.
