Kolkata, April 24 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused the Trinamool Congress's (TMC) "jungle raj" for the rape and murder of a 31-year-old postgraduate trainee inside the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9, 2024.
Modi, who was addressing an Assembly election meeting In Panihati Assembly constituency in Kolkata's northern fringes in support of the BJP candidate Ratna Debnath, the mother of the RG Kar victim, focussed on issues related to women and attacked West Bengal's ruling TMC for allegedly exploiting the condition of women in the state.
The RG Kar incident has sparked widespread citizens' movement across the state as well as the country.
