Kannur (Kerala), Feb. 20 -- A tipper lorry driver was injured when a powerful steel bomb accidentally exploded , while mud was being loaded using a JCB at a plot in Central Poyiloor near Panoor, on Friday.
According to police, Shamith Lal (24) of North Poyiloor, sustained injuries to his abdomen and was admitted to a cooperative hospital at Thalassery. The incident occurred around 9.30am.
The mud removal work was being carried out as part of the reconstruction of a house owned by Abdul Salam, a resident of Meppatt. The house had remained locked for the past ten years. After clearing debris from the plot, the JCB was loading mud into the tipper lorry when the explosion took place.
