Chandrapur, April 27 -- A tigress died under mysterious circumstances in Sindewahi taluka of Maharashtra's Chandrapur district after a series of incidents involving a cattle kill, human-wildlife confrontation and an attack on a forest guard, raising several questions, officials said on Monday.
The incident came to light in the Ratnapur-Navargaon area when a farmer found his bull mauled to death in a maize field, indicating the presence of a tiger.
Soon after, a tigress along with her three cubs was spotted in the vicinity, drawing a large crowd of villagers. Amid the commotion, the tigress reportedly turned aggressive and charged at people, triggering panic in the area.
