Hyderabad, April 30 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to expedite the construction of the Thummadihetti barrage, underscoring its strategic importance for irrigation and drinking water supply in the state.
At a high-level review meeting held at MCHRD, the Chief Minister, along with Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, reviewed technical aspects of the project with irrigation engineers and experts.
Officials made a detailed presentation on the optimal height of the proposed barrage and the potential water utilisation. They informed that the state has already spent around Rs 11,000 crore on the Pranahita-Chevella project, with 71.5 km of canal works completed in several stretches.
