Thrissur, April 25 -- The ceremonial proclamation of the Thrissur Pooram festival, which begins tomorrow morning, was held today with the opening of the Southern gate of the Vadakkunathan temple by the majestic tusker Ernakulam Sivakumar carrying the idol of Naithilakkavu Bhagavathy.
Signalling the start of the 30-hour pooram festivities being held at the heart of Thrissur city, the event was attended by thousands of devotees and visitors.
