Varanasi, April 27 -- Three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

Two people were killed when an auto-rickshaw collided with a pickup van on the Sarnath Road, while a truck driver was killed when a speeding truck hit a parked truck from behind in the Shivpur police station area.

In the first incident, an auto-rickshaw heading towards the old bridge collided with a speeding pickup van.

The pickup reportedly hit the auto-rickshaw while descending the bridge. Nihal died on the spot in the accident. Locals rushed 60-year-old Shyam Dulari, who was seriously injured, to a hospital, where she also died during treatment.
