Ranchi, Sept. 15 -- Hours after security forces in Jharkhand gunned down three top Naxals, including Sahdev Soren, a central committee member of the CPI (Maoist) carrying a bounty of Rs 1 crore, Home Minister Amit Shah announced that Naxalism has been completely eradicated from the state's Bokaro region.
Shah also asserted that the entire country will soon be free from the Maoist problem.
Shah said in a social media post: "Today, in Hazaribagh (district), Jharkhand, a joint team of the CRPF's Cobra Battalion and the state police has achieved a major success in an anti-Naxal operation. In this operation, Naxal commander with a Rs 1 crore bounty, CCM (Central Committee member) Sahdev Soren alias Parvesh, has been eliminated.
