Ramgarh (Jharkhand), April 3 -- Three persons were killed in separate elephant attacks in two villages under Gola police station area of Jharkhand's Ramgarh district on Friday, officials said.

The incidents were reported from Murpa and Banda villages, triggering panic among residents and protests over alleged lapses in advance warning and wildlife management.

According to local officials, an elderly man, identified as Shyam Dev Sao, was first attacked by elephants while he was going to collect mahua in Murpa village.

Later, a herd entered the Bangla Bhatta area of Banda village and attacked two labourers, identified as Yugal Bhuiya and Dheeraj Bhuiya, who had gone out in the morning, officials said. Both died on the spot.
