Shimla, March 18 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a three-day orange alert warning of widespread rain, hailstorms, and snowfall across Himachal Pradesh as an active western disturbance coupled with cyclonic circulation continues to influence weather conditions in the region.
The ongoing wet spell persisted on Wednesday, with higher reaches of the Lahaul-Spiti district receiving fresh snowfall.
According to reports, Keylong recorded about 3 cm of snowfall, while Kukumseri received 3.6 cm. Light snowfall was also reported from Gondhla and adjoining high-altitude areas, keeping the region under intense cold conditions.
