Dumka, Feb. 16 -- Ramgarh police in Dumka district arrested three persons for allegedly threatening contractors of a road construction company and demanding extortion and levy. A country-made pistol and live cartridges were recovered during the operation, police said on Monday.
According to police sources, for the past three to four days, inputs were being received that anti-social elements were threatening contractors engaged in road construction work in the Nonihat-Sinduria area under Ramgarh police station limits and demanding extortion money. In response, local chowkidars and informers were deployed to keep continuous surveillance in the area.
