Varanasi, April 2 -- In the religious and spiritual city of Kashi, the Shri Hanuman Dhwaja Yatra was taken out from Bhikharipur on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on Thursday.
Women, men, and children enthusiastically participated in the procession, carrying flags in their hands. Many devotees also carried maces. Devotees from Purvanchal and other parts of the country also participated in the flag procession.
The procession concluded at the Sankat Mochan Temple, where devotees offered flags to Lord Hanuman.
Hanuman Dhwaja Yatra President Rambali Maurya stated that this year, 5,100 large flags and approximately 21,000 small flags were distributed to devotees. Dozens of tableaux were a major attraction during the procession.
