Bijapur, Feb. 7 -- Thirty Maoist cadres, including operatives from the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) companies No. 2, 3 and 7, surrendered today under Chhattisgarh's rehabilitation policy, dealing a significant blow to the insurgent network in southern Bastar.

The surrendered cadres carried a combined bounty of Rs 85 lakh. They laid down arms before senior police officials under the 'Puna Margem: Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation' campaign. The group comprised 20 women and 10 men, many of whom had held key positions within the Maoist hierarchy.
